Recently, the leading decentralized exchange of BNB, PancakeSwap, announced the launch on Layer 2 Base. Specifically, PancakeSwap decided to expand to the Base network to take advantage of the low transaction fees on the blockchain and provide a convenient trading experience for users. 2️⃣ US courts call Bitcoin and Ethereum commodities. A New York court has called Ethereum (ETH) and Bitcoin (BTC) "commodities" in its ruling rejecting a class-action lawsuit against decentralized exchange Uniswap. Recently, Judge Katherine Polk Failla of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York dismissed the lawsuit. Therefore, Uniswap is exempt from liability for investors' decisions. In the court's ruling, the judge also referred to Ethereum (ETH) along with Bitcoin (BTC) and held that the two cryptocurrencies are commodities and not securities. 3️⃣ Binance puts an end to BUSD. Binance recently announced that it will end support for the BUSD stablecoin, while encouraging users to quickly switch to other stablecoins by February 2024. The reason behind this move is that BUSD issuer Paxos has been ordered by US authorities to cease operations, making it impossible for Binance to continue supporting BUSD. To assist users in the transition, Binance suggests using other stablecoins such as FDUSD, and even offers a free program for this transaction. 4️⃣ Gemini raised concerns about Genesis' bankruptcy plans. In an Aug. 30 court filing, Gemini challenged DCG's proposed bankruptcy plan. The roadmap suggests a way for creditors of bankrupt crypto lender Genesis to receive payments.
