📣 We are nearing the next OIG Election! Quite some time has passed since the last election, and a lot has happened. We have seen a complete restructuring of the evaluation process, the discontinuation of the parachute system, the adjustment of guild requirements, the introduction of infrastructure contracts, a refocusing of WAX Labs, and, along with it, significant changes to the responsibilities and scope of the OIG. With all this in mind, we discussed the situation with the WAX core team and concluded that it would be best to postpone the next election until the situation was more clearly defined. This avoided forcing a new candidate into an unclear workload and compensation model, while keeping the OIG stable amid uncertainty. As a result, the election scheduled for June was postponed, and the tenures of the sitting IGs were extended by 6 months. Even though we still have significant changes to Governance on WAX on the horizon, we consider things settled enough to move forward with the next election round. With the holidays closing in we decided to open nominations for the 12th OIG election on: December 15th, 2025 00:00 UTC. Nominations will run for two days, closing on: December 16th, 2025 23:59 UTC. Voting will be open from: December 17th, 2025 00:00 UTC until: December 19th, 2025 18:00 UTC. The newly elected IG will take over for @BlocksBarcelona on February 1st 2026.
